No, a doctor's referral is not required for a private consultation. In Australia, physiotherapists are Primary Care Clinicians with the qualifications and expertise to assess and manage musculoskeletal injuries independently. However, your physiotherapist may request your doctor's details to keep them informed about your condition. If you are lodging a WorkCover or Motor Vehicle Insurance claim, a doctor's referral will be required.

If you have any relevant medical imaging, such as X-rays, CT scans, or MRI scans related to your injury, please bring them to your appointment. These will assist your physiotherapist in conducting a more comprehensive assessment and developing an effective treatment plan.

Additionally, our physiotherapists have access to the online reporting systems of all major medical imaging providers. If necessary, they can review your imaging reports during your appointment to ensure a thorough evaluation of your condition.

We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment. In some cases, the physiotherapist may need to access and assess the injured area directly to perform a thorough evaluation and provide effective treatment. Loose clothing will help facilitate this process.

Yes, we happily see patients under Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident claims. You will need a GP referral prior to your appointment for it to be covered by the insurance company.

Yes, we happily see DVA patients who hold a current GP referral. Please bring your DVA card to your first appointment.

Your first appointment involves a comprehensive evaluation and treatment and takes up to 40 minutes. Appointments thereafter are determined by your condition usually 20-30 minutes.

Our physiotherapists will develop an individual customised Care Plan for you. Depending on the severity of the injury, amount of available time will determine the amount you need to be seen.

On average, most common injuries a Physiotherapist will see require 6-8 sessions over a 3-4 week period. Each condition is different and will require different timeframes, which your treating Physiotherapist will advise you on during your initial assessment. Physiotherapy aims to treat and correct your ailment or impairment within the shortest possible period.

If you cannot keep your appointment, please call us as soon as possible. We realise that sometimes emergencies come up and your plans may change. When you call, we will help you reschedule your appointment. Giving us as much notice as possible helps us better serve you and our other patients.

We require a 24 hour notice or at minimum before 9:00am of the day of your appointment. Should you not let us know within this time frame then you will be liable for a 50% cancellation fee.

At The Injury Hub, we understand that calling the clinic to book an appointment isn’t always convenient. To make things easier, we now offer online bookings.

A small deposit is required to secure your appointment online. This deposit is then deducted from the total cost of your appointment when you attend.

If you need to reschedule, please contact the clinic directly and we’ll be happy to move your appointment to a more suitable time.

If you choose to cancel your appointment entirely, the deposit will be retained in line with our cancellation policy.
